Will Your Entry Level Job Belong To Your Parents?

by Arturo F Munoz

When your parents are your main competition for a low-end, entry level job, you know that the world that you're living in is nothing like the recent past.

But neither will your future turn out as expected, if these adults persist in holding those jobs.

Take dead seriously the time that you now have to get out of debt, gain work experience by entrepreneurial means and face up to the reality that you're now competing for entry level jobs with people 20+ years your senior, hungry – perhaps even literally – to stay in the work force.

Think long and hard about doing work that they can no longer as effectively do as you could, because that will be your most competitive feature in this kind of market.

Youth means a strong, healthy body. Use it! Don't abuse it!

Ask yourself 3 questions:

  1. How do you want to spend the last third of your life?

  2. Where do you want to spend it?

  3. What legacy do you want to leave behind and for whom?

Questions 2 and 3 are the most important.

When all is said and done, how do you want to live your life on your way to its ultimate end? Don't think about how good it will be when you get there. Think about how good it must be getting there. Then, make that lifestyle change now.

If you want business success, meaning that you want to be able to take care of yourself as an adult, even care for a family if you wanted to start one, and make this world a better place to live, where you know that you are improving your local community with what you do, then you need to answer the 3 questions I've given you.

If you know where you want to go, you will work far harder to make a go of it. That hard work must fit your lifestyle choice to be fulfilling. Make the choice today.

College? Look at the beginning of this video. Then think long and hard about the reality of life that awaits you with just a college diploma in hand as your ace in the hole.

Think: "I'm not the only one with a degree...not by a long shot!"

Then ask: "If I'm like everybody else in this sense, then why should anyone prefer me above anyone else for this reason alone?"

Share your thoughts about this subject below. What do you plan to do? What do you fear is coming your way?

If you're like the people spoken of in the video or if you know anyone who is, what's your new way of thinking about work, career, life?
