The Opportunity To Share The Best Information With The People I Care About

by Shelly

It all starts with a dream...

It all starts with a dream...

Lemonade, anyone?

All of us had our first small business opportunity as kids. How many cups of lemonade could we sell to neighbors and people who happened by on one hot summer day?

The wheels kept spinning... What if we sold cool lemonade EVERY day for the whole summer?

What if we sold cookies too? Think of all the money we would make! Think of what we could do with all that money!

Every small business starts with a dream.

The best small business ideas are the ones that involve something you love. That's why it has to be about more than money.

In the end, what keeps you going is the contest of growing a business and adapting to constant challenge, the thrill of your first sale or positive comment from a happy customer.

Some days you will feel great about your small business while other days...not so much.

But if you're tired of the same old 9-to-5, a small business may be just what the doctor ordered.

I should know. I started one myself. After going to college, my plan was to be a nurse. After one day on the job, I ended my nursing career and started down the dental path, because I love teeth!

So, I'm now a dental hygienist with a passion for guiding people to healthy teeth and gums not just face-to-face but online too because, when you got good information in your head, you just can't keep it to yourself.

Sharing that information is the kind of business opportunity I took advantage of!

Embracing Change Helps Us Cope With It

What an excellent story, Shelly! You're so correct to point out that what keeps us going as micro-business owners is adapting to constant challenge, looking for the thrill of having someone tell us how meaningful and useful they've found our service. Call it a happy customer.

I know that this seems not much different than having a happy boss tell you that you've done a good job. But unlike working for a manager, you can get this rewarding sense of fulfillment from having not only 1 person tell you how significant your work is.

You can have dozens in a single day tell you so! That's good enough to make anyone grin.

Thank you for caring so much about people's smiles.
